What makes a cabin a cabin is the porch and the light. A covered porch runs across the front, a fiberglass entry door welcomes you in, and windows sit on multiple sides, so it feels like a place to be rather than a box to fill. The 7'8" walls give you room to stand and work anywhere inside.
Underneath, it's the same honest 2x4 framing on 16-inch centers as everything we build. Insulate and finish the inside after delivery, and we can spray foam it for you if you want a tight, finished envelope. Run electric with a licensed electrician, add a mini split, and the framing takes all of it without modification. The cabin itself arrives fully built (unless you need it built on site, we offer that too).

How it gets to you.
Mule Delivery
Your building arrives on a trailer and is placed with our specialized Mule machine. It rolls across lawns with minimal turf disturbance, fits through tighter access than a full truck and trailer, and sets the building exactly where you want it.
Build On-Site
For sites where a pre-built delivery can't reach (wooded lots, no road access, or unusually tight spaces) our crew brings the workshop to you and builds your structure piece by piece on your property. Same materials, same craftsmanship.
Cabin Questions
Used as an office or workshop, a cabin often falls under a simple zoning compliance permit, which many areas require for buildings up to 200 square feet. Go over 200, or finish it into living space or a guest house, and a building permit and local ADU rules typically come into play. Those vary a lot from township to township, so check with your local office before you finish one for living use.

We deliver it unfinished inside, so you can take it as far as you like, from a simple insulated workspace to a fully finished guest cabin.
You've got a few good options. A compacted gravel pad is the most common and the most forgiving for drainage. Concrete piers work well on a slope or uneven ground. A full concrete slab is the most permanent, and worth it if you're finishing the cabin into year-round space. Whichever you pick, the cabin is built on pressure-treated 4x6 skids rated for ground contact, and keeping water from pooling underneath matters more than the foundation type itself.
Yes. A licensed electrician handles the wiring after delivery, and the framing takes outlets, overhead lighting, and a dedicated circuit for a mini split without any modification. Most owners budget somewhere around $1,500 to $3,500 depending on the run length and the panel.
Mostly the porch. The cabin runs its covered porch across the front, the classic cabin look. The casita tucks the porch into a corner for a more house-like footprint. Both use 7'8" walls and the same finishable framing, so it comes down to the porch and the look you're after.
A custom cabin is usually finished and on its way to you within 3 to 4 weeks, stretching to 5 or 6 in the busy summer stretch. We build cabins in Northern Indiana and Southern Michigan and deliver free across Southern Michigan and out to roughly 150 miles. If one's already sitting at our Adrian or Carleton lot, it can be yours in a week or two.
Yes. We do rent-to-own through JMAG, with 36 or 48-month terms and no credit check. You take the cabin home for just the first month's payment and pay it down to ownership from there. Either location can set it up, or you can start in the 3D builder.
