The lofted casita keeps everything that makes a casita a casita, the covered corner porch, the house-like proportions, and 6'6" main-floor walls, and adds a full storage loft up in the gambrel roof. The loft takes the totes, seasonal gear, and overflow, so the main floor stays open for the office, studio, or guest space you're building. Casitas 16' and shorter come with a 4'x8' porch; 18' and longer step up to a 4'x12'.
Finish the main floor however you live, and let the loft hold what you don't want underfoot. The covered porch stays fully usable no matter what's happening inside. The loft is built into the gambrel roof overhead, sized to the casita. It arrives fully built, porch and loft included (unless you need it built on site, we offer that too).

The loft adds overhead storage without growing the footprint. Finish the main floor as the room you actually want, and send the seasonal bins, luggage, and overflow up top where they stay out of the way.

Finish the main floor as a dedicated workspace, use the loft for files and storage, and let the covered porch extend the office outdoors on a good day. It's a three-zone building from a two-zone footprint.

How it gets to you.
Mule Delivery
Your building arrives on a trailer and is placed with our specialized Mule machine. It rolls across lawns with minimal turf disturbance, fits through tighter access than a full truck and trailer, and sets the building exactly where you want it.
Build On-Site
For sites where a pre-built delivery can't reach (wooded lots, no road access, or unusually tight spaces) our crew brings the workshop to you and builds your structure piece by piece on your property. Same materials, same craftsmanship.
Lofted Casita Questions
It does. The covered corner porch is standard on every casita, lofted or not, and adding the loft doesn't touch the porch or the main floor layout. You get the corner porch, the full main floor, and the storage loft, all from the same footprint.
Overhead storage, and a generous amount of it. Seasonal bins, luggage, off-season gear, the things you'd otherwise stack in a closet. It tucks up in the gambrel roof with limited headroom toward the edges, so it earns its keep holding what you don't need every day while the main floor stays open.
The main floor, absolutely, that's where the living or working space goes: insulate it, drywall it, run electric, and we can spray foam it for you. The loft is built as storage with limited headroom, so it's usually left as flooring plus maybe a knee wall rather than a finished room. Most owners finish the main floor first and decide on the loft later.
A level, well-drained spot does the job. A gravel pad, concrete piers, or a slab all work, with a slab being the most permanent if you're fully finishing the inside. The casita is built on pressure-treated 4x6 skids, and keeping water from pooling underneath matters more than the foundation type.
A custom lofted casita usually takes about 3 to 4 weeks to build and deliver, or 5 to 6 in peak summer. We build in Northern Indiana and Southern Michigan and deliver free across Southern Michigan and out to roughly 150 miles, and in-stock ones at our Adrian or Carleton lots go out within a week or two.
Yes. Lofted casitas qualify for rent-to-own with no credit check, on 36 or 48-month terms, and the building is yours at the end. Ask either location or start in the 3D builder.
