What the City of Flat Rock requires
- Setbacks
- Accessory structures must be in the rear yard only, 1 ft off any easement, and 5 ft off any property line. Local zoning allows 3 ft from a property line only if the wall adjacent to the property line, and any front/back wall within the 5 ft dimension, is fully fire rated.
- Height & coverage
- Local zoning requires sheds/garages not to exceed 12 ft in height. Any accessory structure over 600 sq ft requires a 12 in x 42 in full concrete foundation.

Larger or permanent structures can call for a concrete slab or a rat wall, a perimeter footing that keeps rodents out and meets code for a permanent foundation. Questions About Buildings in Flat Rock
Most likely, yes. We deliver within about 150 miles of our Northern Indiana and Southern Michigan shops, which covers most of southern to lower-mid Michigan, Northwest Ohio, and Northeast Indiana.
