Amish Lofted Garage. Ground floor below, storage overhead.
The same garage footprint with a full overhead loft built in. A 9×7 overhead door, with 2x6 floor joists 12 inches on center below. Measure the main-floor layout and loft clearance before assuming a specific fit.
The same garage, with significantly more cubic feet.
The lofted garage starts with the same overall layout as the standard model, then adds a full overhead loft built into the roof structure. The loft runs across the full interior width and handles items that would otherwise end up on the floor or in a separate shed. A 9×7 overhead door, with walk-in entry options available.
Most lofted garage owners use the loft for seasonal storage: holiday bins, camping gear, patio cushions, tools that only come out once or twice a year. The loft is built into the roof overhead and sized to the garage, sometimes a single loft, sometimes two. Measure your planned main-floor layout and the items going overhead before choosing a size. It arrives fully built on the mule, loft and all (unless you need it built on site, we offer that too).

What size do you need?
Mid-Size
A compact floor with loft storage above. Handy for a golf cart, mower, tools, or seasonal overflow.
Large
Often enough floor for a normal car, with the loft helping keep totes and gear off the ground.
Large
More depth below, more storage above, and a little less pressure to make every inch count.
Oversized
A more comfortable width below with loft space for the things you do not need every week.
Oversized
A nice working size for equipment, storage, and a loft that actually earns its keep.
Max
A deep lofted garage for bigger storage plans and a floor that can stay more usable.
Max
More width below, more breathing room, and a full loft overhead.
Max
The largest lofted footprint, for customers trying to solve a real space problem once.

Main-Floor Clearance
The main floor keeps the same clear ground-level layout as the standard garage. Measure door clearance, interior depth, and walking room before planning what goes below the loft.
Seasonal Storage Overhead
Holiday bins, camping gear, patio cushions, off-season tools. Everything that cycles in and out twice a year lives in the loft and stays completely out of the way the rest of the time.
Ground-Floor Workshop
With seasonal storage handled overhead, the main floor can stay more open. If you want a bench, shelving, or project area, compare the actual layout against the building size before ordering.

How it gets to you.

Mule Delivery
Your building arrives on a trailer and is placed with our specialized Mule machine. It rolls across lawns with minimal turf disturbance, fits through tighter access than a full truck and trailer, and sets the building exactly where you want it.

Build On-Site
For sites where a pre-built delivery can't reach (wooded lots, no road access, or unusually tight spaces) our crew brings the workshop to you and builds your structure piece by piece on your property. Same materials, same craftsmanship.
Lofted Garage Questions
The loft is framed with 2×4 joists on 16-inch centers and plywood sheathing, the same standard as the floor below, so it's built for bins, boxes, and the usual seasonal storage. Heavy concentrated loads like an engine block or a water-filled tank aren't a fit up there, but for what most garages need to stash overhead, it handles it easily.
No. The loft sits up in the gambrel roof, above the eave line, so the main floor keeps the same clear height as a standard garage. Standing on the ground floor, you wouldn't know the loft was there until you looked up.
It depends on the build. Most lofted garages have a single loft built into the roof overhead, though some have two, in lengths like 6, 8, or 12 feet. Either way it's storage that sits up and out of the way of the floor below.
Same as a standard garage. Most townships want a permit, especially once it's housing a vehicle or getting wired, and the loft doesn't change that. Since garages generally run over 200 square feet, you're usually looking at a building permit rather than the lighter zoning compliance permit smaller structures get. The specifics are local, so check with your building department and we can help.
A custom lofted garage typically takes about 3 to 4 weeks to build and deliver, or 5 to 6 in peak summer, with the larger sizes sometimes a little longer. We build in Northern Indiana and Southern Michigan and deliver free across Southern Michigan and out to roughly 150 miles. The biggest ones that can't travel in one piece we build on your site.
Yes. Lofted garages qualify for rent-to-own with no credit check, on 36 or 48-month terms, and you own it at the end. Ask either location or start in the 3D builder.
