- Detached accessory structures are allowed only in rear yards and must remain behind all building lines adjacent to streets on corner lots. Residential detached accessory buildings/structures must be at least 10 ft from rear or side lot lines and at least 10 ft from any other building on the same lot or property.
- Height & coverage
- Residential detached accessory structures may not exceed 15 ft overall height. Combined ground-floor area may not exceed 450 sq ft plus 2% of total lot area, and may not exceed the ground-floor footprint of the dwelling's living area.

Larger or permanent structures can call for a concrete slab or a rat wall, a perimeter footing that keeps rodents out and meets code for a permanent foundation. Most likely, yes. We deliver within about 150 miles of our Northern Indiana and Southern Michigan shops, which covers most of southern to lower-mid Michigan, Northwest Ohio, and Northeast Indiana.
