If a gravel pad isn't in the budget, concrete blocks are a fantastic alternative. A lot of our customers pick up 10 to 15 affordable concrete blocks from Lowe's, Home Depot, or Menards and have them on-site when the building arrives. Our delivery driver will place them for you, giving your building a balanced, elevated base that keeps it off the ground and draining properly. It's one of the cheapest upgrades you can make, and it goes a long way.
A poured concrete pad is the most permanent option and makes the most sense for larger garages or buildings you plan to keep in one spot for decades.
The one thing to avoid is setting your building directly on bare dirt. Moisture, frost heave, and poor drainage will cause problems over time no matter how well the building is constructed. A little ground prep protects the whole investment.
